Hey. Saphris caused some drop-outs b/c of sedation. Overall, lots of people apparently dropped out in the trial...I'm too lazy to go back and get references, but if you google asenapine you'll see some bloggers' comments on the studies. Some of them are quite harsh.
Have you tried a more thoroughly researched atypical, like Geodon or Abilify? Have you considered co-medication? I read one study where they switched people from zyprexa to perphenazine plus BuSpar (yeah, I thought it was weird, too). Anyway, the results were good. They were more careful with the perphenazine dose than docs probably are with atypical doses, so EPS was minimal (and buspar helps with EPS, too). I just thought I'd throw that one out there to show that you have all kinds of options, as long as you and your doc keep tabs on current research and theory.
