Hi Bleuberry,
The addiction / tolerance issuse is a troubling one. I decided to shelve it for a bit, and I work closely with a pain management doctor and keep meticulous records. Basically, I do what I can on my end to guard against complications.
The mental benefits I expected and hoped for after reading on my own some months back. When I posted 80% effectiveness above, that was after a few good days. Then I had a few bad :) Your reasoning jibs with mine that tramadol is a weak opoid. It doesn't address a certain level or type of pain for me. And when I increase dosage during a pain episode, I suspect the ssri snri effects cause discomfort (generally feeling weird), and yet there is no additional pain relief.
Then there's norco which will deaden the pain...and everything else!
Yes, what the heck. Can tramadol withdrawal be so much worse that what I experience with effexor and pristiq? (Maybe....) For someone dealing with OCD and not pain, I think the right dose could be a godsend. Instead of rotating antidepressants and APs, a small opoid action seems easy and relatively safe.
MDD currently controlled. C-ptsd and comorbid health concerns. Chronic fatigue.
