You can eat all the foods you mentioned. What you're not supposed to eat are aged foods --aged cheeses (most cheeses) and aged meats like pepperoni and salami. Also fermented foods like soy sauce, tofu and sauerkraut. But how often, actually do you eat these foods?
I have found that I can eat small quantities of blue cheese, feta and cheddar in salads. I can also eat small amounts of pepperoni in pizzas.
Thes diet is fairly easy to follow. It doesn't require abstaining from common foods like tuna or canned chicken or mayonaisse. And small amounts of forbidden foods -- like taking some montery jack cubes at a function or party -- rarely have an effect.
When I started on parnate, I had been in the hospital and they were reluctant to start me on it, though my p-doc was insistent. Afterward, I said to him, well maybe they were concerned that I could eat some cheese and salami with a bottle of chianti and just check out. He told me these were tendencies, not certainties. If eating cheese or salami or drinking red wine would automatically put you in a hypertensive crisis, nobody would ever prescribe these drugs.
