You know I hope from health training, Jan, that there are only very rare scenarios where one can actually *possibly* get any real flu-like conditions from a live-killed vaccine and that is serious full-blown AIDS or other related disorders.There is no live flu at all.
But there is a chance, not to remind you of it, at your age, that *without* the vaccine you could put yourself at risk and contract it and stand a greater chance of dying.
That someone still gets a flu even after being vaccinated means one of two things 1) they already were developing it during the several weeks' buildup of inoculation, or 2) it didn't work, as can be in the 10-20% of cases, but even if it doesnt "work", a flu in an inoculated person is often attenuated.
And you should definitely also have a pneumonia vaccine as well, but I can't convince you on that one either.... that is a secondary complication of what could be flu or swine flu, among other conditions.-- Jay
