I first blamed Nardil and nortriptyline. However, when I switched to Parnate and desipramine, much to my surprise, the weight issue remained. Process of elimination leads me to Abilify as the culprit. Weight gain with Abilify seems to be latent from the start of treatment. It just doesn't seem to begin until you have been on the drug for a few months. Then, the weight gain becomes insidious and doesn't seem to plateau.

If I relapse or feel not as well, I will restart Abilify, as long as I first ascertain whether or not a worsening of my condition is a withrawal rebound depressive reaction. I am almost convinced that with lithium on board, I can do without the Abilify.
We'll see.
