Hey guys
I have a fairly technical question that I'm hoping someone can answer. I have been taking SAM-e for about 3 months now with decent results. I'm sensitive to meds so I only take about 200 mgs once daily. It's not 100% effective but I much prefer SAM-e to synthetic antidepressants.
However, recently I've been experiencing a nonstop herpes outbreak that I can't seem to find a logical cause for. I've started to review in detail the supplements I take and the only one that seems to maybe be the guilty culprit is SAM-e. It seems as though the enzymatic pathway that metabolizes SAM-e is implicated for herpes outbreaks:

I'm not well-studied in these matters and could be interpreting the research incorrectly. But, I'm hoping someone here can either confirm or deny a possible link. The only other possible connection I can make is my recent re-entry into the gym after a protracted break due to severe IBS. Maybe the lactic acid release from the muscles is creating a good environment for the herpes virus.
Appreciate the thoughts!
