Hi there,
As always, thank you in advance to all who post here. It is a great aid.
You may have seen my post that I started Lithium and Seroquel a couple of weeks ago. Within a week of starting this new med mix, I started having blinding panic attacks. Thank goodness I have a job that allows me to work from home on occasion, as I can't drive with the panic level as high as it is, but need to get back to the office and back to being able to function.
I have a PDOC appointment on Monday. I am going to ask the Dr. about trying Depakote and / or Lyrica. In the meantime, am weaning myself off the Lithium in preparation for the new med. I take 600mg a day (300mg morning, 300mg night) and would like your advice on if it would be best to stop the morning dose of Lithium or the night time dose?
Also, I read through a lot of old threads and it seems that I may have some luck with Depakote for my BP II and panic attacks. Thoughts?
I was also thinking of Lyrica as a alternative since I have bad arthritis in my shoulder. It appears that for some it is a good anti-anxiety.
I only take benzos in extreme emergency as I have a history of substance abuse.
To recap, if you could let me know if you think my plan for tapering off Lithium is okay and any inputs on Depakote and Lyrica in helping panic disorder. I don't know if the Seroquel is causing my anxiety, but it sure knocks me out at night.
Thanks for your help.
