I was on Parnate for 12+ years and did not experience any decline in it's effectiveness. I went off of Parnate because I was no longer depressed, and my pdoc at the time did not think I needed an antidepressant anymore. I did fine for 10 or 11 years when I got depressed over physical health issues. Tried Parnate again as it had worked in the past. This time it did not seem to be as effective. I am now on Emsam (for two weeks now), and I am not sure, but it seems to be starting to work.
