I know Desipramine is a metabolite of Imipramine and therefore your body gets some Desipramine when taking Imipramine.
My question is if there is a percentage of the MG dose of Imipramine that breaks down into Desipramine your body uses. For example I'm taking 150mg of Imipramine - is there an approximate mg amount of Desipramine I could assume my body is getting from that 150mg of Imipramine? In other words does the metabolite equate to a comparable amount of the regular drug....
Hope that's not too wordy but I'd appreciate any insight.
Cheers,
-Jay
