Hi Ronaldo.
It doesn't really matter what your fluid intake is, as long as it remains constant. Just measure your lithium blood levels periodically to establish what the right dosage is for you at any given fluid intake / fluid excretion. Certain substances like caffeine will increase fluid excretion (inhibits ADH secretion), thus offsetting to some degree the increased intake. An adequate fluid intake during lithium therapy is between 2500-3000 ml or 8-12 cups per day. It doesn't have to be water.

> how many glasses of water should one drink per day if you take lithium? I take 900 mg every night. I drink half a pint of water when I wake up but after that it is mainly tea and coffee and coke. Will drinking more water make me less irritable and agitated? I am also coming off Zyprexa and my sleep is suffering - only get about four hours of sleep a night :-( I guess I need to cut down on the caffeine?
