hi. sorry about your experience. After 6 months, you should be fine, especially if you're only talking about a single dose. I read a study where the authors found that Haldol stuck around in the brain tissue of dead people dx'd as schizophrenic for months after their final dose but...Haldol is a different creature entirely, and most of those people have been chronically medicated before finally giving up the neuroleptics.
I think after your negative experience you are (understandably) concerned that this drug had a lingering impact. Odds are, if its a one-off event, you're fine; I think maybe the trauma has affected how you view what's going on with your body. That said, if it bothers you, you may want to chat with a doc, preferably one who isn't a shrink.
I agree w/ you on the meds issue...docs tend to push less effective, more expen$ive and potentially dangerous meds before meds that are proven safe and effective, but have a little bit of addiction potential (which probably stems from the fact that they *work* and don't make patients feel like s**t).
