Clomipramine questions and some support please ?

Posted by kizzie on January 2, 2007, at 11:20:03

Hello everyone. Happy New Year from the UK. Just wondered if someone could help me with a couple of things.

I have been taking clomipramine (50mg now)for 6 months following a breakdown after previously doing a very slow withdrawal from it. (the same thing happened after slow withdrawal from paxil.

During Oct/Nov I was very well. But at the end of Dec started to slip back and have been very anxious and low for the last 2 weeks. Prrevioulsy I was well on clomipramine even on low doses of 20mg and less. It was only when I got down to 0mg that I had probs.

<<<Does this mean that Clomipramine has now pooped out?

i feel so trapped - I cant get off the pills and now they dont work.

Sorry i know this sounds pathetic but this has been going on for such a long time.

Also I started getting really sick and bad indigestion when I took my tablet late at night without food. So Ive started to take them with my dinner - will that make any difference to absorption.

I cant really ask my dr these things because he just says that if I dont like the drugs then I should give them up (except I cant because even with slow withdrawal i get horrendous withdrawal even tho he says that impossible.) and he says that really I should just do some relaxation exercises and eat a good diet. (Except I do have a good diet and I do lots of exercises but they just dont help.) When Im well Im very well - I have a very good job in broadcasting and a lovely family and I cope with everything really well. Before PND 7 years ago I never had any history of mental health problems. But the dr just says i bring it on myself and doesnt agree with any 'chemical' problem. (???)

Anyway id really appreciate any advice.
Sorry ive written so much. Ive tried to hide it all fromm my family so i didnt upset them over christmas and its a relief to tell someone.
Thankyou
