The same doctor considers most tricyclics (NOT clomipromine, possibly not trimipramine) a possibility to use in combination with MAOIs, as long as it is monitored carefully. I have found at least one article recommending the same (despite all the labeling warnings).

I have had problems mixing Nardil, but not Parnate, with imipramine. The reaction was presumed to be serotonin syndrome and included severe hypotension and muscle rigidity along with some mental confusion. Nardil in combination with desipramine or nortriptyline doesn't affect me that way.
