I take Strattera, 60 mg for the last 3 months. I think that it does help with focus and motivation. There was a definite improvement within the first couple of weeks that I started. I don't notice that it's there anymore, I'm not sure if that means I just don't realize the difference between my medicated and nonmedicated self, or that it has decreased in effectiveness. I could try going up to 80 mg. Maybe I will if my doc asks about it.
I don't have many side effects, although it made me nauseous at first, and now just blunts my appetite. There was fatigue for 2 days each time I increased the dosage and insomnia the first 2 weeks of treatment, both of which have now subsided. I don't have major ADD, just moderate ploblems staying on task and listening in lecture. I do believe I'm better at both now, although it tough to distinguish between concentration problems due to ADD vs. anxiety and depression. I think it's an OK medication, not great, not bad.
