I think the best approach is to use the AD that has proven most effective for you, and then to augment it as best you can.
Don't load down on supplements, but there are some that have proven efficacy in aiding antidepressant treatment.
Zinc, Folic acid, b12, and Omega 3, and vitamin D are the first things that come to mind. Bright light therapy may also be usefull if depression worsens in winter months.
Add exercise to this if possable.Linkadge
