Does anyone know anything or had any similar effects to this medication.mirtazapine (Remeron) is generally a sleep-inducing medication and taken at night for that reason. 30mg is a clinical dose.. mirtazapine does have a quicker effect for depression than some SSRIs so yes, 2 weeks could show some signs. Some believe that increasing the dose to 45 and way beyond will make the patient less sleepy and have less weight gain but my doctor hasnt seen this in practice. It wasn't the case for me. They also make orally disintegrating losenges (15mg ?) that are absorbed faster, I dont know if this would make a difference or not.
The shakiness I can't say because you had made reference to "all of his meds" which means polypharmacy. Any one or a combination could do this. One would have to know more about the other medications and approximately how old your husband is as well (clearance of medications decreases with age). Pure Remeron did not make me shaky but I have seen a few anectdotal reports on babble that it can.
