Next steps for social anxiety..Nardil?

Posted by aabag on August 23, 2005, at 0:31:15

Social anxiety flared up again today, as per usual. Some of the classic signs:
* Accelerated Heart Rate
* Flushing of Face
* Ears turning Red

All this because of a disagreement with an individual. So petrified was I to speak my mind, for fear of embarassment at a halting voice, that I kept to myself, all the while knowing that silence, while not as painful in the "acute" sense, would cost later in a non-social anxiety settings. More unnecessary busy work, all because I can't speak up.

Having tried the gamut of SSRIs, sampled Provigil and amilsulpride, eagerly awaiting both Cymbalta and Pregabalin's release to no avail, I think there is little choice but Nardil.

I have a single friend, haven't spoken, shall we say, suggestively to a girl literally since 2001, and would like to enjoy life, rather than engage in anxious hermitage.

So, I'm going to call around and see if I can't find a pdoc who will consider MAOIs (in the US). Wish me luck.

Also, for those of you who use Nardil and exercise relatively frequently, how does Nardil effect your ability to to both cardio and resistance training? And another thing, if Nardil works, will posting to PBabble most likely be the furthest thing from my mind?
