> I've been on Lunesta for 16 nights now. I take 3mgs. I prob filled one of the first Rx's available in the U.S. since it was introduced!

> If it weren't for the price, I would say Lunesta would be great sleep-aid adjunct; by itself it does not seem strong enough to keep me asleep. I have also taken more (about 5mgs) to see what would happen and it just made me depressed.

> I take the Lunesta with either Xanax, Restoril or Benadrly and can say that it adds to the efficacy of each. I am finding, as I have mentioned in previous posts, that it does not have the same fast-acting sedation that Ambien has....nor does it make me feel relaxed like Ambien does.

> At this point, I think I am going to switch back to my 10-20mgs to Ambien at night. I take the Ambien under my tongue for faster and stronger action and blood levels. You can't do this with Lunesta. It by far is the worst tasting pill I have ever taken in my entire life! It gives you a horrible metal taste when you take it and when you drink water, the water tastes like Lunesta all day! This side-effect is very bearable and is not why I am stopping it. Don't we wish all medications only side-effects was a foul after-taste?

> As for this whole Lunesta helps depressions wives-tale, that's floating around--no doubt put out by the company itself, let's just say It's definetly just that--a lie. Unlike Ambien which helps my night-time anxiety, Lunesta does not appear to have any anti-anxiety effects at all, unfortunatly.I just got a script for Lunesta 3mg also. It does leave a horrible taste, but it worked well for me. i slept longer than with Ambien. Ambien does leave a different feeling right before you drift off... but Lunesta gave me more of a Benzo feeling. i think it was intended for long term use, where Ambien is for short term. However, I have taken Amvien off and on for about a year. My M.D. never had a problem prescribing it to me, but my insurance company does!
