Hi;
One of my friends first dx'ed with Shizo., then Shizoaffective Disorder. However, now his dx changed to Bp I with psychotic features.Even an experienced pdoc. had a VERY hard time to dx this disorder due to the complexities along with detailed explanation from the ppl. that was his case. But, with a proper medication/med. combo. he's been doing VERY WELL as if he has NO M.I. at all in some point, except a powerful med. regimen for him to get through everyday.
Then, actually dx is NOT really important, ... rather med. response along with a right pdoc. and right med. combo. is a VERY significant factor to get better. Even my dx. with Bp II seems MORE benign in comparison to his dx. Bp I with psycho., he's been MUCH productive than any other M.I.s. because of his 'positive' med. response along with a right psycho.therapy, both of which seems helping his 'recovery.'
The following web-site has a good explanation regarding shizo. and all other M.I.s, including 'Shizoaffective Disorder(you need to scroll down quite a bit to find one).
