There can be all sorts of imballenced neurotransmitters that can cause anxiety. Low Serotonin, low dopamine, low gaba, high histamine, high dopamine, high serotonin, high cortisol.

gaba seems to have the most pronounced effect in relieving anxiety associated with various imballences.
