hello there, chemist here...klonopin is in the same class of drugs such as ativan, valium, and libium, the last being the first benzodiaepine ever sysnthesized. they reduce anxiety by targeting a certain receptor in your brain which leads to suppression of anxiety/panic and are generally not sedating in small doses and as your system gets used to them. all the best, chemist
