Dear Perres,
I too am sorry to hear about the very TOUGH time you have been having. Your description of panicc attacks is VERY familiar to those of us who have had struggled with them.( as you can tell by the other posts)Xanax has been my Med for dealing with them for several years now...I am told I am one of the few who has not developed tolerance for alprozolem
so my long-term usuage has worked for me.
I have been on 2 other Anti-Deppresants...and they also got rid of the panic attacks...so it would seem BOTH Meds have enough anti-anxiety properties to handle panic. My advice would be to stick with the fewest, and lowest dose Med's you can.
If Xanax works at a lose dose on an "as needed"
basis..stick with it! I wish I wouldnt havent allowed myself to be talked into an AD, by my MD.
Anxiety was and is my MAIN struggle...the AD's just addded side-effects that have affected the last few years of my life, negatively.
But that is just my experience...others have found the AD's to be a life-saver and are doing great on them.
I am just giving you my opinion as a fellow-"panic attack" sufferer.
Debilitating Clinical Depression is another ball game. If you are NOT troubled by this...I would advise steering clear of AD's...no matter what an MD might suggest.Buckeye Fan
