Ritalin/stimulants and weight loss

Posted by jms600 on June 29, 2004, at 17:02:32

I'm thinking of trying a stimulant as an appetite suppressant as I really need to lose some weight. I've tried dieting and more exercise but I've hardly lost anything. I've also tried Xenical, but found pretty ineffective.

My weight gain has been caused by being on SSRIs for 20 months.

Does Ritalin cause appetite suppression? If so at what dosage? Is it safe to take with Prozac 40mg? If so I'm going to have to self medicate, as there is no way my doctor would give me Ritalin as its not licensed for weight loss.

Any suggestions?
