In reply to Is Ritilin a anti-depressant?, posted by 1980Monroe on June 28, 2004, at 22:13:21
Ritalin for me acted as an anti-depressant. But I developed a tolerance very quickly. I couldn't just take two a day and feel good. I'd enjoy the initial calming high, and the ability to focus. Then shortly after the crash would come. Soon I realized I had to take two or three to get the feeling I used to get from one. And the crash was SO miserable. It may work better for ADD kids than it does for depressed adults. But now I know they have time-release versions of ritalin. I'd try one of those first. Also Concerta and Strattera are supposed to be Ritalin like, only without the high and the crash. Check 'em out.
best to you.
