In reply to Lexapro and sweating?, posted by gritslad on June 28, 2004, at 3:35:17

Hi
I am stuggling with the same problems of excessive sweating. It happens to many people on many of the SSRI's.
I have facial sweating too so I am looking for something that is systemic- so antiperspirants won't do.

In my investigations I have found that a few agents with anticolinergic effects are used......robinul and clonidine etc. I havent tried either but plan to do so soon. also beta blockers help some....not me though.

I believe this can also be hormonal. only your doctor can determine that with blood tests.

But sweating is a common side effect of all the SSRI's for sure.

> I've just returned to my prescribed dose of Lexapro (10 mgs. a day). Am experiencing bad night sweats and worse neck sweats? But I'm also 43, so these could be the first signs of perimenopause. Anyone else have this symptom and know of ways to deal with it?
