When I started on Wellbutrin, I had been on a low dose of Effexor for some time. I eventually eliminated the Effexor because of its side effects and because the Wellbutrin just seemed to be a better antidepressant for me. I noticed that when I finally did dump the Effexor, my mood improved markedly.
