> Panda - I agree - to use an AP for insomnia IS excessive. Plus it has caused me to gain almost 80 pounds. I have terrible insomnia. I wouldn't be against using Remeron for sleep - but I just don't want any weight gain. Plus, The hangover from Seroquel and Trazodone (ugh - the WORST med - makes me feel like my head is being forced underwater) is causing major problems with me getting to work. Perhaps Remeron isn't so bad????

>Anything that causes sedation via H1 blockade is also supposed to be capable of causing weight gain(ie: most TCA AD's, most AP's & Remeron), but you never know unless you try as your YMMW :) There is a poster here who is on Effexor & was gaining weight on Remeron, so he switched to Seroquel & lost it which proves YMMW. I'd certainly try Remeron as it is easy to give up.
