I have only post a couple of times here but read the posts most every day. I am on currently 225mg of EFFEXOR XR and have been on it for about 2 months. The previous 2 months I worked my way up from 75 mg then 150mg to now 225mg. At the time I started the med I was having extreme relationship problems with my wife of 5 years, they were long term problems which at the time seemed unresolvable. I have 2 boys aged 3 and 5 yrs and my wife was 6 months pregnant when I decided a change was in order. I went to a coucellor then my pd who prescribed the EFFEXOR. If I had not been put on the med, my relationship would be over. The EFFEXOR has some bad effects, but after reading so many posts on withdrawal, there is no way I would forget to take the med. If its important that you take it, THEN TAKE IT, no ifs, no buts, just don't forget. it's not that hard. As for when I come off, who knows, for now if my doc suggest that I come off shortly, I think I would have to pursade her otherwise. Life is good again, a little more sleep would be good, but with a baby girl comong along in a week and a half, there wouldn't have been much chance of sleep anyway, even without the EFFEXOR. There is no real point to this email except that for me EFFEXOR has been a miracle, it's the only AD I have been on. When the time comes to give it up, then i'll takle that, its certainly a lot easier taking that hurdle with my wife and family than living without EFFEXOR and without my family. So, for all the bad it causes, and yes, some it's bad for me too, its worth every minute. I guess it depends on what you have to lose or gain in taking it, and if the benifit outweigh the downs, then go for it.
