Yes, but remember that anxiety itself can reduce congitive capacities, lowering IQ scores. So if you're so anxious that your anxiety is already impeding upon your thoughts, think of the beta blocker or benzo as an effective treatment that happens to lower your IQ a few points after raising your IQ by several points. Your IQ with the beta blocker or benzo would thus be higher than without it if your anxiety brings your IQ down more than the beta blocker or benzo.
So it's like a sort of deficit, but we have deficits so you can make improvements, like build better schools, create more jobs, so we need to look at the whole picture before seeing the red eye.
Oh God, Saturday night and I'm getting prophetic about beta blockers in my dorm, someone save me! =)
