My pdoc just switched me from immediate-release adderall to dexedrine spansules. So far, it has resulted in a pretty good mood improvement; I think the adderall was too choppy on my mood, and that it thus masked a lot of the lexapro benefits. The dex spansules are much smoother and gentler for me, without an abrupt onset and abrupt crash. As a result, I feel more of the lex anti-anxiety and anti-depressant effects. I still get rather lethargic and my mood gets dampened; but my doc said if I still feel those negative effects after another week or so with the new stimulant, we will probably increase the lexapro dose. Things might very well be looking up; I'm putting the MAOI idea on hold, as this new combo might work.
I'd love if you kept me updated on your progress.
Peter
