Well, I've been taking lamictal now for almost a year. I was at 100mg, but then it started making me feel that 'wet blanket' effect. So my doc had me cut it in half, and I've been taking only 50mg for a few months now. I also take adderall, straterra )just started 1 week ago - I'm reducing the adderall with the plan of fully replacing it with the strattera), klonopin, temazepam, ambien, trazadone, and, finally, Prozac
I've usedl amictal with a moderate dose of zoloft, (100mg); the combo was effective until I started cycling, stopped sleeping, started drinking a lot etc. So I came off the zoloft; now I'm taking the 50mg lamictal with a small dose (10mg) of prozac. The bit of prozac seemed to really help me in a few ways- my depression improved, and I began to be able to wake up earlier, etc. So far it's working quite well, though subtly (sp?). I find the prozac has a better balance between calming and stimulating effects than the other SSRI's. I think the 'small' dose is the trick for BPII's; it works well for me with the lamictal.
