Hi, you could try mood charting to see if you have discernable patterns to your mood cycling. It really helps to see the patterns because you can see the process as a type of "objective" mechanism going on outside your control. That way you see it as a true medical condition and makes it easier to accept, and you might find yourself "monitoring" yourself less in a casual minute-by-minute basis. Also, mood charting could help *rule out* bipolar disorder. I think Dr. Phelps has a good chart at psycheducation.org.
