Nardil - Does It Stop Working?

Posted by victoria1063 on February 1, 2003, at 13:38:30

I've been on Nardil for almost 23 years. It has been a life-saver. I initially began taking it for anxiety/panic attacks and it helped tremendously. I've had very few panic attacks since being on the Nardil.

I started out at 60mg a day and have, over the years, tried cutting it back to 45mg but would always start experiencing anxiety so I would have to up it back to 60mg.

Recently, I've been experiencing some major depression. I just can't seem to get over it. I push myself to do things and go places but the depression just seems to hang persistently over my head. This has been going on now for almost 4 months and is becoming quite disabling.

I'm not having panic attacks perse, but the depression is causing plenty of anxiety.

Could I possibly, after this much time on Nardil, need to up my daily dosage? Or is it possible that the Nardil is just not working as well as it used to.

I'd welcome any thoughts anyone may have. Thanks,

Vicky
