In reply to Insomnia? Try low dose Remeron!, posted by Guy on January 4, 2003, at 11:46:10
Not sure, but I think the smallest Remeron pill is 15mg, so 1/2 a pill would be 7.5 mg, not 5 mg.
Anyway, I've been thinking about trying this ultra low dose Remeron thing for sleep for a long time.
The reason I haven't is the reputation of Remeron for weight gain in many people. I'e heard that the weight gain is less of a problem at higher doses, but I wonder if there is also a low end dose where it is not problematic?
What has your experience been?
How much clonazepam do you take?
> Just want to share with anyone who may be suffering from insomnia and related anxiety: For the past few days, I've been taking 5 mg of Remeron (1/2 pill) along with a small bit of clonazepam. For me, this is an incredible sleep cocktail, especially since the dose is so low and the side-effects so minimal. Who knows, I may even be able to stop the clonazepam altogether if I want. When I get a really good night's sleep, my anxiety stays pretty much under control. I'm hoping the drug will continue to remain effective because I think I'll be needing a sleep aid for many years to come. Happy New Year to all.
