Risperdal, Prozac, and serotonin?

Posted by VK on October 18, 2002, at 17:36:45

I have just been prescribed low doses of Risperdal and Prozac. I came home and did a little research, and it seems that Risperdal works in part by reducing the activity of serotonin. Prozac works by preventing the re-uptake of serotonin (i.e., increasing the activity of serotonin?).

Would the effect on serotonin of these two medications cancel each other out?

Anyone have any experience with using these meds concurrently?
