That's not true...

My psychiatrist insisted that I get a CBC and a catecholamine urinalysis before putting me on medication

catecholamine urinalysis tests the metabolites of catecholamines (epinephrine, dopamine, norepinephrine)

You can also test for serotonin metabolites.
