Nardil probably helped me more than anything else with social anxiety and atypical depression. I stopped it only because I had to spend a month at a relatives house and I didn't have much control of the food I ate (they're Korean - lots of potentially high-tyramine food). The only hypertensive crises I've heard of involved large amounts of tyramine-rich foods (e.g. pepperoni pizza). The risk is fairly low if you're careful (see the updated MAOI diet somewhere on this site) -- the key is moderation.
