5mg is a moderate dose for Zyprexa. You can
go upwards to 10mg+. Zyprexa takes about 1 week
to reach a new steady state in your body if you
change the dose. You may feel a little drowsy
when you increase the dose.It sounds like you are doing well on the Zyprexa.
I don't want to poo-poo the manerix, but i would
look further into interactions. You can start by
calling Roche Pharmaceuticals in Canada and find
out. They will know if there is an interaction.
Go to their website for the number,
they'll connect you with a nurse who can probably
answer your question. They were very helpful
to me when I was looking into manerix. As far as your meds go, if you can get zyprexa
to work stand-alone that's great. It is my feeling
that you should talk about your symptoms seriously
with your pdoc instead of your gp. What symptoms
do you have that lead you to believe you may
be bipolar 2? Again, this is just my opinion,
but I think adding a mood stabilizer to the zyprexa
like Lamictal (which probably will not make you
drowsy) may be a decent approach if the Zyprexa
doesn't hold its own.Has anyone had a worsening of depression on
Lamictal? I don't recall every hearing that
complaint about lamictal, but I could be wrong...
I am a little biased towards lamictal because
it was the 1st non habit forming
med that truly stabilized me.
Zyprexa was the 2nd med that has helped.

> hi. I am currently taking Zyprexa along with Moclobemide for 4 days or so. I have been extremely tired and sleepy the last few days. I would get like 14 or so hours of sleep per day. Of the various things I have been told one thing is that the Moclobemide can increase the amount of zyprexa in my body. So recently I have decided to take the Moclobemide 600mg before bedtime along with the zyprexa as to not make me sleepy during the day. But I've also been thinking about stopping the moclobemide all together. Would it be safe to keep taking the moclobemide despite the fact that it interacts with Zyprexa? I dont think I would like to stop the zyprexa for the small possibility that it may end up helping me. I have been on it for 2 weeks or so. Two days ago I didn't take my zyprexa dose and the next day things started to 'look' scary. So I decided to keep taking it. I am thinking of stopping the moclobemide and see how it goes with the zyprexa. Is 5mg zyprexa enough for severe depression or does it need a raise? I'll be seeing my pdoc on the 8th. And the doctor who prescribed the Moclobemide was a family doctor so obviously he didn't know enough.
