In reply to Cyclical use of Amisulpride: reduce contra effects, posted by Mauro on October 31, 2001, at 19:21:22
Hi,
Very interesting post. Thanks for sharing. I just wanted to say that from time to time, maybe once a week or so, I will take 33mg of Amisulpride. I find that it works for me in about 2 hours, and then the good effect seems to last for days, even though I only took it one day. It has been reliable to me. It never fails. It's weird though, because when I first tried it, it took a while for me to feel anything from it. But now, I respond positively to it in just hours. So anyway, I think the stragegy you are considering would work fine, and I also think it could be modified if needed no problem. You can customize whatever works for you.
John> Hi to everyone,
> I suffer of Dystimic desease (low mood, constant negative thoughts, social anxiety, anhedonia...) I've tried all kind of AD (lot of SSRI, Tryciclical, Neuroleptyc...) without any results but with a lot of connected deseases and aggravation of principal symptoms.
> Then my Med prescribed me Levosulpiride 100 mg/d (it is in commerce in Italy and has a Chemical Structure very similar to Amisulpride). Using this med I finally had excellent results and great improvements of negative symptoms.
> The averse effects were very limited and the only one I suffered was Hiperprolactemy, causing low sex desire, but my med said also to me, for reducing that effect, to take product in Cyclic of 15 days and than suspend it for 4/5 days, and so on.
> All contra effects was wery reduced, but not principal effect of terapy!
> So, my Med have prescribed me Amisulpride (Deniban in Italy), thinking it's better than Levosulpiride, and I'm going to keep similar Cyclical use like I've once done for Levosulpiride.
> Has everyone experience about cyclical use of Amisulpride? How many days of use before stopping seems to be right? How long to stop terapy?
> Tanke You all.
> Bye Mauro
